pumice fine (4-8mm) (3l)
About pumice
Pumice is a porous (vesicularly loosened) glassy volcanic rock that corresponds to obsidian in its chemical composition.
Our pumice comes from the Eifel region and is mined in the Neuwied Basin. The loess on the mostly arable land is pushed aside, the pumice is now extracted in open-cast mining and the area is then recultivated with the loess soil. This makes the extraction of pumice environmentally friendly.
Using Pumice
Pumice has become very popular in the professional garden sector due to its numerous advantages. Pumice improves the aeration of the soil, the ability to store water and optimises the nutrient supply indirectly.
